Everyone loves that book about Alexander and his bad day, and I agree that it's great. But I also love A Good Day by Kevin Henkes, about how a bad day can become a good one. The text and art are clean and simple but not simplistic. The message is positive but not all saccharine or cloying. I find myself repeating this book, to help my son turn his day around. Sometimes it works for me too.
